Sometimes the most contentious part of songwriting comes after the song is written and it comes time to figure out what to call it. Most songs will make their names pretty clear early on – punchy lyrics, meaningful thoughts, or even a stand-out word or two usually make the naming process pretty easy – but when a song like this one comes along, naming it is no mean feat. An upbeat piano track, straight-ahead strumming and drumming, and fairly incongruous lyrics led to some pretty substantial head-scratching until, finally, we settled on “Chronicles.”

Breath - Remix
The wonderful thing about a good remix is that it can take something familiar and repurpose it in a completely different musical setting creating a new and exciting musical work while hooking people in with the joy of recognition.
With this remix of Chronicles, Harriet Hume (yes, she's related) takes The Printing Press down unfamiliar territory into a lush and relaxing trip hop sound. We really enjoy it and we think you will too. Check it out: MP3
Released on a CD-R
Before it was recorded for Worth Imagining, Chronicles got the Printing Press duo treatment. Released for free online and on a burned CD at shows along with Another Wall and To Dreaming this was known as the Chronicles EP. Watch out for it soon in Living Liner Notes. MP3

Lyrics
I said:
"Did you mean it when you said that we were through?"
She said:
"I didn't, but maybe I will soon."
Ba ba dadee da ba dadee dadee da ba ba dee da
Ba ba dadee da ba dadee dadee da ba ba dee da
Went to visit a friend in prison; said:
"What did you do?"
He said:
"I didn't like someone, and they didn't like me too."
"You didn't really answer me, well, did you?"
"Well, if I told you I'd have to kill you.
No one visits but you."
Ba ba dadee da ba dadee dadee da ba ba dee da
Ba ba dadee da ba dadee dadee da ba ba dee da
Went home, took off my jacket, and pulled up a chair.
Fixed myself a drink, 'cause no one was there.
Maybe I'll go out and get a breath of air;
It might be good for me, but I'm not sure I care.
Ba ba dadee da ba dadee dadee da ba ba dee da
Ba ba dadee da ba dadee dadee da ba ba dee da
Ba ba dadee da ba dadee dadee da ba ba dee da
Ba ba dadee da ba dadee dadee da ba ba dee da
